The next round begins with everyone except Malcolm hacking away at the leader
and/or his horse. Carideth hits twice, nearly severing the man's legs at the
knee. The slaver leader does nothing more than wince and chuckle, keeping his
scimitar ready to parry the occasional strike but never attacking. Borack,
too, takes a swing at the man, hitting him sharply in the back and nearly
dismounting him, but the man holds on and ignores the mage. Aardvarkin thrusts
his sword at the slaver but he turns the attack quite easily from his
position. Ivan hits the horse once with his drusus and once with its shield,
angering it and causing it to strike out at its nearest opponent, which
happens to be Carideth. It grabs ahold of his arm and wrenches the ranger's
sword from his hand. The slaver leader reproaches his horse for its sudden
outburst, and then calls to his last remaining ally in a tongue foreign to all
of you. The sword-wielding slave trader begins retreating northwards, walking
backwards so as to insure no attacks are made against him without his
knowledge. However, he trips and stumbles numerous times in the mud, so he
isn't moving very fast.

By now, the rain begins to cease altogether, but puddles and mud still abound
throughout the field. A few of you glance back at where your campfire was, but
it seems to have been put out by the rain.

Oh, and by the way - Carideth whistled for his horse a minute or two ago, and
soon his fine half-elven ears pick up the sound of hooves sloshing through the
mud, steadily advancing in this general direction. He can barely see the horse
coming with his infravision, and cannot be sure it is No Quirks.. he'll find
out when it gets closer.
