First of all, the slaver leader steps backwards and retrieves his sword,
exactly at the same moment as Aardvarkin arrives there. The two attempt to
grip the sword at the same time. Both men pick it up, and both men try to take
it for their own. What ensues is a tug-of-war between Aardvarkin and the
slaver, which quickly comes to an end as Ivan leaps on top of the enemy and
knocks him to the ground. The two roll around for a while in the mud, but it
seems that Ivan clearly has the advantage because of his extreme height and
weight. Carideth, watching intently, waits for an opportunity and takes a
swing at the slaver leader. The blow hits him squarely on the ear, nearly
stunning him. Borack takes advantage of this opportunity by attempting a swing
with his quarterstaff, but accidentally hits Ivan, causing him great pain and
making him lose his grip on the slaver, who starts to get up on his feet
again.
Aardvarkin throws the scimitar far into the dark of night, where he hears it
land with a loud slap on the mud. Ivan, you may still be able to keep the
slaver down on the ground if you act fast. Borack (under DM control as his
player is on vacation) decides to drop his staff. If the slaver remains on the
ground, he will use his fists to attempt to knock him out, and if he manages
to get to his feet, he decides to again knock him over. He suggests everyone
do the same, because four against one will definitely get him down AND hold
him down with no problem at all.
Malcolm returns to the combat scene, with blood dripping from his lip. It
looks as if he was punched hard. However, he informs you that the prisoner is
bound and gagged, and that he thought helping you fight the leader was much
more important than guarding the prisoner. Besides, he remarks, he's nowehere
near our camp, so he won't steal anything on the off-chance that he manages to
free himself. Then, hearing Borack's plan reiterated, decides to help pin the
leader.
No Quirks calmly trots up to Carideth, awaiting orders. However, a horse would
be pretty useless in this situation, seeing as how close the combat is.
