Malcolm agrees to Ivan's suggestion and starts off to retrieve the slaver
prisoner. Before he leaves, though, he mentions something about asking
Greenbolt whether or not the ring is cursed.. Then again, he adds, perhaps it
just wont come off of the amputated hand because the ring was too small for
his finger. With that, he turns around and jogs south.
By now, it's just starting to get a bit light, and you can finally see how
totally disgusting you all look. Just about everyone is caked with mud,
especially your weapons, and you'll need to spend a fair bit of time washing
your clothes and cleaning off your weapons if you ever want to use them again
soon. There definitely doesn't seem to be a shortage of water here, but
unfortunately all of it is in the ground. Perhaps, after you're done your
business here, you should hustle over to the nearest village and get your
clothing and armor cleaned properly, especially those of you without spare
garb (basically everyone except Carideth and Malcolm [yes, Greenbolt, you are
rather muddy as well after running around in the soggy field all night]).
At any rate, you can all soon see Malcolm dragging an extremely unwilling man
through the mud towards you. The prisoner probably could have managed to
shuffle over despite his bindings, but he looks to be deliberately trying to
stop Malcolm from taking him away. The priest is pulling the man by a rope
around his chest, making it look rather like someone pulling a dog around on a
leash. The scene is quite comical, in fact.
Speaking of dogs, there's been no sign of Pep since the battle began, nor has
there been any sign of Thief. Carideth's horse is still standing obediently
where the prisoner once sat, awaiting instructions.
