The necklace appears to be a densely-packed string of tiny metal beads. The
metal is not very heavy and is very shiny, but there is no rust or corrosion
on it. It is a silvery color but does not appear to be made out of silver, or
any other precious metal you know of, for that matter. There is some sort of
emblem at the base of the necklace; it seems to be in a rectangular shape and
is flat. Engraved into the charm is the symbol of a large bird of prey, most
likely an eagle with a particularly large beak, holding something in its
talons which you are unable to make out. The eagle emblem is of a similar
color to the necklace, but the two do not seem to be made of the same metal.
The entire necklace itself is not divided and has no clasp. It looks as if it
would barely come off the slaver's neck in one piece, but you can do it if
you're careful.
The dagger, in every respect, appears to be a normal, slightly used iron
weapon.
Though neither mage will admit to knowing any spell accomplishing the
detection of magic, Malcolm hands the two a spellbook, which they promptly
open to the appropriate page. After several minutes of contemplation, the two
wizards fetch their own spellbooks and copy down the detect magic spell for
their own use. Malcolm promises to let them study his spellbook again when we
have time. But for now, the spells are cast on the two objects, and neither
one emanates a magical aura of any kind.
What about the slaver? Are you going to release him now?
