For now, we'll just think of a name later and then warp back in time to choose
which name to write on the note, since I really don't want to spend another
week here deciding what you guys are calling yourselves. So whatever you
people think of in the future, that will be what you sign the note. But like I
said, let it suffice to be said that you are simply leaving the note and
proceeding east, towards Htron.
You gather up your equipment and animals and proceed down the road. As you go
farther eastward, the foliage to the sides of you gets thicker and thicker,
until the point where you are practically surrounded by forest. The road,
however, is perfectly straight and perfectly level, and you are able to see
far behind you, the way you came.
Greenbolt, Malcolm, and Ivan, the only ones familiar with this route, express
their feelings of wonder at the apparant abandonment of this road. From what
the three of them know, the road is supposed to be very busy, but you don't
encounter a soul all day.
Just around dinner time, you wearily trudge up to a three-way intersection.
Looking down, you can see a small town a few hundred yards to the north. With
mutual agreement, you change course and begin walking up towards the village.
There are a few people on the street, and they appear to be very friendly. You
walk through the center of the town, which is indeed very picturesque. The
streets are paved with tight-fitting grey stones, there are numerous small
fountains down the central boulevard, and whitewashed timber shops line the
main street. It seems these are likely to be the only establishments in the
town.
Strolling down the main street, you can see two blacksmithing shops, two inns,
three provisionary shops, and an alchemist. Their respective names are the
Aardwin's Armour, Derkatch Armoury, the Iron Talon, Cyrith's Inn, Nomaan's
General Store, the Derkatch Provisionary, Juno's Supplies, and Theresa's
Alchemy. Glancing in through the doors and peering in through the windows, you
can see that most of the shops have people working in them, but no customers.
Off on the side streets are mainly residential areas and small farms and
foresters' dwellings. Again, you don't see very many people other than the
occasional peasant walking across the street.
Other than this, you don't seem to see any buildings or areas of any interest
to you. The shops look to be about ready to close up, so if you'd like to do
any business tonight, you should do it now, or wait until tomorrow. You're
welcome to browse around and offer your equipment to sell. I can provide you
with price lists and offers for any stuff you may be selling.
By the way, both inns advertise a cost of one gold crown for supper, a bed,
and a light breakfast in the morning, served until noon. Baths may be extra...
