OK, Carideth keeps a whip and a longsword, and you sell everything else thus
(all in silver pieces for the sake of convenience):
38 sp - Foreign coins converted
10 sp - Slaver leader's dagger
100 sp - Slaver leader's scimitar
180 sp - Two slavers' longswords
2 sp - Slaver's whip
2 sp - Eagle emblem necklace
30 sp - 3 gold crowns from slaver leader
------ --------------------------------
362 sp/6=60 sp each with 2 sp remaining
Now all you have left to do is decide what to do with these two silver pieces,
and give Sol four silver pieces for his breakfast. Who will pay?
I'll be mailing you how much money you have.. but I would appreciate it if
you'd keep track of it as well. I'll always know exactly how much money you
have, but whether or not you know is up to you, and I am not going to mail you
your balance every time your assets increase or decrease. Should you ever wish
to know how much money you have, send me a message saying "So-and-so wishes to
take out his purse and count his money..." or something to that extent.
Anyways, back to the game.. Aardvarkin and Ivan make a quick trip to a
provisioner to buy some goods, and then the entire party returns to the inn's
stable where Sol is waiting on his armoured horse. "Are we ready? Good! Let's
go!" he says, and after those of you with horses get your horses (if you
decide to take them.. if not, you'll probably be charged money for their
staying here in the stable), you're off to the cave. As far as I know, your
equine friends consist of Carideth's horse, Ruinad's horse, and two horses you
captured from the slavers. Are any of you going to adopt any of the last three
horses as a permanent mount, or will you take turns or something?
You ride/walk out of the village, turning west just before you hit the
intersection. You have a hard time ploughing through all the mud in the
forest, since it hasn't dried much since it rained the other night. After
nearly an hour of following Sol, he finds a treacherous pathway weaving in an
amongst the trees. He points towards a small clearing a few hundred yards
ahead - you can barely see it through the dense forest. He explains that you
must go there and clear away a bunch of branches and leaves he had lain on the
ground over the enterance so as to hide it. From there, he says, it's a drop
of about five feet, and then you'll start going north down a downward-sloping
tunnel, until the walls start to be made of stone rather than earth. He tells
you that there is good ventilation in the cave, so torches won't be a problem.
He furthermore warns you to beware of spiders, and then waves you off. Before
you can ask him any questions, he turns his steed and gallops off as fast as
possible through the trees to the south, yelling, "By the way, go south to get
to the trade road!" Within a minute, you can barely see him any more.
Unshaken by his rather rude behavior, you turn and walk towards the clearing.
Ivan (under DM control again) clears off a rather obvious array of sticks and
leaves, exposing a small hole about four feet in diameter. Looking down, you
can see that there is indeed about a five foot drop... into a mud puddle. But
an earth-hewn passage does indeed extend more or less to the north, and Ivan
calls for a torch and jumps into the hole. Malcolm lights one, hands it to
him, and then drops down himself. Together, they report that the tunnel is
approximately ten feet wide, and stretches north as far as the torchlight can
reach, with no obvious intersections.
OK, I'd like the following from your next message.. What will you do with the
2 sp remainder, and who will pay the 4 sp for Sol's breakfast? Who took a
horse? Are you all going inside the cave? What are you going to do with your
horse(s) (if you took them with you)? What order will the party be walking in?
What are you going to do if you go in the tunnel?
Ivan and Malcolm, not having taken horses, do not worry about them (but would
be happy to pitch in for the stable fee if they're still there). Either one
wouldn't mind using the 2 sp remainder to pay for part of the breakfast, and
then take 2 sp from their own pockets for the rest. They are both in mutual
agreement of any walking order in which the fighters go first. And finally,
they both opt to proceed down the cave until they encounter an intersection or
other special feature of some sort.
