I'm not going to get into the habit of drawing dungeon maps for you. As far as
I'm concerned, that will be left up to you people.. But perhaps I didn't make
myself clear (and please inform me when I haven't.). Here is what you would
have so far for a map:

             _| |_
            |_ _|
              | | N One square = ten feet
              | | W+E
              | | S
              | | | Wall
             _| |_ _ Wall
            |_ L_| L Lady (now gone)

Carideth searches the alcoves and finds nothing. You proceed down the corridor
to the next set of alcoves, which are also empty and bereft of any secret
doorways. However, up ahead, about forty feet, is yet another set of alcoves,
which, too, are empty and contain no secret passages. This time, however, the
passageway ends about ten feet beyond here, and you come upon a staircase
leading downward. Ivan thrusts his torch down into the darkness to get a
better view. There appear to be ten steps, and at the base of the stairs lies
a man dressed in blue robes, already well into the process of decay.
Cautiously, you decend for a closer look.

He appears to have been killed by a blow to the head, most likely by the mace
lying not ten feet from him. The mace is still gripped by a hand, which, oddly
enough, is not attached to an arm. Confused, you stand up and let torchlight
flood the area.

You are at a four-way intersection. Behind you are the stairs, to the left and
right of you are passages that branch out and turn south after about thirty
feet. Ahead of you a corridor continues indefinitely. Just to the north of you
are two doors on either side of the wall, and passageways also extend to the
left and to the right after the doors... like so..

                    | |_
                    | _
                   _| |
                   _ |
                 ___] [___
                 | __ __ |
                   _| |_
                  |_ _|
                    | |
                    | |
                    | |

(just tack this on to the map I already made.. I'll only make maps like this
if it's difficult to explain with words...)

Anyways, back to the scene at hand. Right at this intersection, you have a
decaying human in blue robes at the base of the stairs, the killing weapon
clutched by a dismembered hand ten feet away from him. Impaled by a sword, a
mouldering elven fighter lies a bit farther to the north. He appears to be
stripped of all his possessions and armor. Lying next to him is another elven
fighter who is also bereft of any armour or weapon; even his boots have been
taken from him. His throat has been slit, and it is now home to a large army
of maggots. While you are surveying the scene, you also see various body parts
sprawled around the intersection. They seem to belong to two separate bodies,
and a count of the parts confirms this. It appears that these parts have been
dead far longer than the other three bodies you see.

There is alot of blood on the walls, on the steps, and on the floor. Other
than what I just described, the only items you see in this intersection are a
burned-out torch (probably only good for another five minutes), a dented iron
bracelet (too bent out of shape to be worn), and a leather backpack strapped
to the dead man on the steps. There are several splinters of wood and alot of
dust here.
