Force the door?

I assume by "force the door", you mean push it? Certainly. You return to the
room (and please give directions next time.. just in case something happened
that you don't know about.. :) ) and Carideth places both hands on the door
and begins to push. The square stone block begins to slide outward, and with a
little help from Ivan, he manages to push the entire door section of the wall
outward. Looking at the hole and the slab of stone, you can see that the wall
has pegs (now withdrawn) and the stone had holes. When you threw the switch,
it must have pulled back the pegs, thus allowing the door to be pushed open. A
search of your surroundings reveals a similar switch under a pile of rubble in
a corner of this new-found passage.

(same legend, but = is stairs..)
Well, there you go.. approximately all of what your map should look like by
now. I do this because I feel sorry for confusing you so often with my
out-of-scale maps.. This map is still slightly out of scale, but dungeon maps
are well nigh impossible to draw with these stupid graphics. You have just
emerged from what I have marked as a door right in front of a wall. I have
assumed you have done a bit of scouting (with infravision characters, no more
than a few feet down the corridor) and have searched the area thoroughly.
There are no traps, treasure, or secret doors other than the latch you just
found.
