  The spider seemingly ignores the two elves rushing at him and instead makes
a lunge for Malcolm's chest. It scores a direct hit, its mandibles sinking
through his robes and into his flesh. You can hear the priest sigh, and you
see his eyes slowly close. The spider does not withdraw from its prey's chest
until Borack lands a solid blow to the beast's head. The quarterstaff finds
its mark on several of the arachnid's many eyes. Partially blinded, the spider
rears up on its back legs. Carideth tries to take advantage of this
opportunity by burying his longsword into its abdomen, but the spider suddenly
steps backwards and falls forward on its eight legs again. It takes a few more
steps backwards until its body is poised over Malcolm's legs and lowers its
head. Its ole body quivers, and it begins tapping its legs on the floo
