Despite protests from some of the more scholarly party members, Aardvarkin
traces his steps backwards and then comes forward down the hall again in hopes
of seeing the ghostly woman again. Sure enough, she appears once more, and
rehearses the very same words and actions in exactly the same fashion.
Aardvarkin tries to disbelieve it, but he knows it's real.. a real illusion,
or ghost, or something, that it.

The walls are made of carved stones. It is difficult to tell whether they are
simply carved from the natural rock or if they were brought in when the
complex was being built. The ceiling and floor are of smooth, polished stone.
Looking up, you can see very, very little soot from torches. Hardly enough to
tell which direction was most travelled.

Malcolm is doing alright - he still has a headache, but refuses to waste his
own healing spell on himself for fear it would better help someone else in
greater need than he later on.

Now who bought that lantern? Was it Borack? I dunno, someone DID buy a
lantern.. you light it, and, this time I'll let you off the hook (Carideth) by
saying you retrace your steps back to the spider room (but next time give
directions!!). It smells a hell of alot worse, but you notice the spider you
killed is gone. You can find no evidence of what happened to it, but it
certainly had to have been something that could either open one of the two
doors or crawl through the narrow slits of one of the two vents - unless, of
course, there is another means of entering the room, but that is not
immediately apparant. In fact, a thorough search of the armoury reveals no
hidden secrets.

Carideth leads the party over to the second door, which Aardvarkin, as usual,
inspects for traps. Finding none, Carideth quietly and carefully pushes the
door open. There is an immediate rush of wind that blows the door open,
causing a great boom as it strikes the wall of the newly-opened room. Peering
through the doorway, you see a large, irregularly shaped room.. as follows..

    ________
    | *[* | * - you stand around here

Scattered about this room, in no seemingly orderly arrangement, are fifty
crude beds, and half that number of chairs and stools. There are several large
wooden tables along various walls, an at the south wall is a large wooden
chest of drawers. The southwest corner of the room slants downward at a sharp
angle, ending in a large crack in the bottom corner of the wall. It is
impossible to tell what lies beyond without closer examination.
On the walls are nailed several sconces to hold torches and more pegs. Hanging
on the pegs, you see another badly battered wooden shield, a leather canteen,
a long, steel chain, a sheathed sword, and a mouldy bearskin blanket. From
beyond the west wall, you can hear the faint sound of metal and/or stone
banging together, together with some extremely muffled voices.
