Ivan drops his extinguished torch and runs to malcolm's aid.  He uses his
shield to try and prevent an attack from the spider while pulling Malcolm out.
Ivan is very careful not to be bitten by the spider too, because we're in
enough trouble all ready with one wound of that sort.  Ivan will prefer to get
Malcolm from behind to avoid the spider's fangs, but he'll do what he can.  If
he gets a good opening, he'll give the spider a good solid kick in the belly
to distract it.
