The ranger scowls at the gnome..."I think not my friend... we journey here
under charge of one of the current owners of this section of land.  Since YE
are here without proper papers, i must assume you to be brigands..."

The ranger makes a pretext of debating what to do..."But I am in a generous
mood today...since we have not received any reports of thefts lately, we will
allow you to be escorted out of the cave complex."

Carideth heads over to the door and attempts to open it, if unsuccessful, he
returns the gnomes back via the crack..barracks room..spider room...west down
the corridorthen south out of the complex...
